Summer recording-tour: Moldova and beyond

Many wonder about the dark and mysterious origins of Moldover's unusual moniker. Some with greater georgraphic knowledge suggest a relationship to the little-known land of Moldova. All we know for sure is that for the first time ever, this obscure location has appeared among the dates for Moldover's live appearances. But what does it all MEAN?!?

Live Remashing: open sourced

Moldover originally launched his solo career with an ambitious live and improvised remix project called "Live Remashing". This project, and the video Moldover made to explain it, drew the eyes of the world and coined the term controllerism. Recordings from the project have remained available here as Moldover has moved on to other performance styles. Now, for the first time, Moldover has made all the live remashing source files freely available to download. This includes the master project file, and all the meticulously prepared songs, samples, effects, and fancy mixing tools, designed by Moldover. Just use your favorite Bit Torrent client or tracker and search for "Moldover Live Remashing Open Source".

Museum jambox installation

Two of Moldover's jamboxes, The MiniMasher and The Launchbox, are now part of a six month exhibition at the San Jose Tech Museum. Tens of thousands of visitors will experience these and 14 other innovative musical instruments as part of the REBOOT: Music exhibition running now thru August 17.

Free "Moldover Font" and animated type-face

The font originally created for Moldover's Light Theremin circuit-board album has been turned into a standard static-font and a customizable animated-font, both available from Animography.net. Credit goes to Colin Sebestyen of Movecraft for transforming Moldover's sketches into something so fun and useful.

Moldover has emerged from seclusion to preview the first production model of his new guitar, The Robocaster! It's a collaboration with high-tech custom guitar maker Visionary Instruments. Moldover's jamboxes

Born from the union of a passion for controllerism, and the love of community-collaboration, Moldover's jamboxes are some of the most radical and innovative instruments he's ever created. The OctaMasher, The SyncoMasher, and The MiniMasher are completely unique designs; each explores a different realm within the multi-player universe. Like jukeboxes in the 1950s and boomboxes in the 1980s, jamboxes are now playing a crucial role in the new explosion of social music and culture.

The SyncoMasher

To celebrate the two-year anniversary of LoveTech, Moldover presents the world's first public performance by The SyncoMasher Quintet. The SyncoMasher instrument is like the Voltron of controllerism, uniting musicianship and technical innovation. Joining Moldover on stage to play selected songs from his album, are master controllerists ANON DAY, COLFAX, EDISON, NONAGON and RICH DDT.
